Paola Baseotto has a PhD from the University of Reading (UK). She is Professor of English at Insubria University, Como, Italy. Her research interests include historical pragmatics, historical linguistics and especially the history of English, translation studies, early modern English theological, legal and medical treatises. She is the author of articles for academic journals and of three volumes (Fighting for God, Queen and Country: Spenser and the Morality of Violence 2004, “Disdeining life, desiring leaue to die”: Spenser and the Psychology of Despair 2008, Language to Language: applicazioni pratiche per gli studenti di Mediazione 2008. She is co-editor of two collections of essays, one on dissent in Renaissance Europe (Voci del dissenso nel Rinascimento europeo 2018), the other on translation (Il tempo e i luoghi della poesia. Riflessioni sulla traduzione di testi in lingua inglese 2018). She has been invited lecturer at Princeton University, City University of New York, Loyola University Chicago, Maison Française at Oxford University, Université Montpellier 3, Université de Genève.
