The master’s degree in biology and sustainability has a solid background in both basic and applied biology, combined with an in-depth knowledge of biological problems, methodologies, tools and techniques for the acquisition of biological data, with particular reference to surveys on biodiversity and natural capital. Its multidisciplinary preparation allows him to understand and manage the complex biological/environmental issues, sustainable use of resources and to formulate interpretative hypotheses as well as to define projects related to possible intervention scenarios. The master’s degree will also be able to make critical judgements in relation to problems of sustainable use of biodiversity and scientific, cultural and social issues arising from his expertise.
Its autonomy of judgment will be acquired through the continuous interactions both at theoretical and practical level with the teachers and during the activities of internships and traineeships interfacing with the referents of the world of professions and verified through the elaboration of reports practical activities and the final assessment of all lessons through examination tests.
Thanks to the solid and integrated cultural preparation in basic biology and in the different fields of applied biology, the master’s degree in Biology and Sustainability will be able to communicate their findings or critical conclusions on observations clearly and effectively. You will also be able to select the vocabulary to be used to be understood by both specialist and non-specialist interlocutors.
Your communication skills will be acquired both through the continuous stimulation to ask questions during lectures and exercises, and through the assisted design of
Experimental protocols to be used during exercises and collective discussion on the results of practical activities. The examination will take place both at dedicated teaching sessions and during the examination.
Master’s degree students in biology and sustainability will have developed the ability to update their theoretical, practical and applied knowledge in the field of biology. Their solid background will help to provide the conceptual basis on which all theoretical, practical and biotechnological updates resulting from the progress of knowledge can be acquired during the professional activity.
Their ability to learn, obtained by attending the various teaching activities and during individual study, will be validated through meetings with teachers and during examination tests.
Lo studente della laurea magistrale in Biologia e sostenibilità dovrà produrre autonomamente, sotto la guida di un relatore ed eventualmente di uno o più correlatori, un elaborato in cui vengano riportati i risultati di una ricerca scientifica o tecnologica originale attinente alle tematiche sviluppate nel percorso formativo presentando i principali risultati alla Commissione di Laurea.
