The course requires learning to be assessed through an oral exam. For the purposes of the final grade, the presentations made by students during the course will be taken into account

The course aims to introduce students to the fundamental topics of digitisation, data and data protection and artificial intelligence. In particular, it aims to understand the regulatory models of the aforementioned issues, their relevance in the evolution of European Union law, in the field of law, economics/business and also in other sectors, such as health.

1. Course presentation – Data and data protection - Data governance and institutional responsibility 2. Digitalization (in public administration, in law, in the protection of cultural heritage) - 3. GDPR and cybersecurity 4. Artificial intelligence: definitions, regulatory models with particular reference to the AI Act 5. The AI Act and the urgent need for AI ethics 6. AI and data protection 7. Artificial intelligence and constitutional, administrative and contract law. 8. Artificial intelligence and the economy 9. Artificial Intelligence and Healthcare 10. Artificial intelligence and the intellectual property system

The course consists of 40 hours of lessons, of which at least 50% will be in person. Seminars will be held by experts on the topics of digitisation and artificial intelligence. Presentations by students and classroom discussions on relevant scientific research on the topics of the course are planned.
