The course aims to provide the basics of neuroanatomy and to illustrate the principles of the development of the nervous system in humans. It also aims to give the basics of manipulating and analyzing neuroanatomical microscopy images using the ImageJ program.
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to: (I) correctly use the anatomical nomenclature of the nervous system of humans and experimental animals; (II) adequately know the topographical and functional relationships between the different areas of the nervous system to understand the functional and anatomical basis of various disease processes; (III) integrate the knowledge acquired in the fields of neuroanatomy with the data obtained from the analysis of neuroanatomical images; and (IV) present the results in statistical tables.
