The assessment of learning takes place through an oral interview, graded in thirtieths and conducted in the “inverted cone” mode: a general question is followed by two questions on more specific content.

The ‘Environmental Assessments and Environmental Law’ module will cover the following topics:
- Introduction to the environment as an asset exposed to the risk of criminal offences (the so-called Green Criminology);
- Introduction to the environment as an asset deserving criminal protection (in particular, Art. 9 and 41 Const.; Directive 2008/99/EC and Directive 2024/1203/EU; European Convention on Human Rights and case law of the European Court of Human Rights also in relation to leading-cases - also condemnations for the Italian State - rendered on Art. 2 and 8 ECHR; hints at the links with the law of the United Nations);
- The models of environmental offence;
- Criminally relevant offence against the environment, the concept of permissible risk, the limits of the precautionary principle in criminal law;
- The criminal protection of the environment in the Consolidated Environmental Act (Law Decree n. 152/2006) in the areas of Integrated Environmental Authorisation, air and water protection, waste management;
- The criminal protection of the environment with reference to industries at risk of major accidents (so-called ‘Seveso regulations’).

The module "Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Law" consists of 20 hours of lectures and is borrowed from the course "Environmental Criminal Law" of the Master of Science in Law, which takes place in the second semester, with didactic delivery through the Teams platform.
On the e-learning platform of the "Environmental Criminal Law" course, all the information necessary for the remote teaching is published and constantly updated (Teams link), as well as the materials used by the lecturer (Prof. Chiara Perini - DiDEC Department) during the classes.
