Requirements: 

There are no prerequisites. Students are invited to attend the classes of the Course English Level B2* and all the additional classes that are offered during the second semester. (8 periods by Prof. Cervini)

Final Examination:

The exam is written with an oral part chosen by the student. To pass the exam students must obtain a score equal to 18/30 in all parts equivalent to level B2 of the Common European Framework.
The written test consists of a 60- item quiz: students must do a test on grammatical structures and vocabulary.
The oral part for the students that will ask for will be focused on the oral presentation of some texts from the book Empower B1 Combo B.

To provide students with written and oral communication skills in English – everyday English - B2 level of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
At the B2 level, students should be able to understand the main ideas of complex texts on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical
discussions in their field of specialisation. They can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party. They can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue givingthe advantages and disadvantages of various options.

The thematic units generally include the following topics: grammar ( from A1 to B2( + general topics

The units in the book and all the handouts uploaded on e-learning help the students to be ready for the quiz.

There will be a 30-hour course about the main thematic topics to train students for both the quiz on Moodle and the oral exam.
Moreover, there will be an 8-hour course to revise grammar points.

Moreover, students will get a further support with online access to EMPOWER B1 second edition COMBO B, for extension activities, after joining the class, where self –study could give them 2 points to be added to the final exam quiz score.

Students with one of the certifications listed below may apply for validation to infostudenti and will be exempt from the exam.
