Learning objectives The course aims to provide students with the keys to learning every television language, every type of narrative, and every type of “spoken” writing through direct examples and exercises, from television reports to commentary, from storytelling to programme hosting. The course content is particularly relevant to the area of audiovisual and media storytelling. Expected learning outcomes At the end of the course, students will be able to: - understand the different television languages and their evolution - understand the main production/production logic of the television system - analyse television texts and recognise the specificities and individual variations of codes according to editorial strategies - contextualise television products within the socio-cultural system and the characteristics of the brand-channel.

The course will specifically analyse the following topics: - basic elements of television language and forms of television programme writing - basic elements of the historical evolution of television programmes - television production system - editorial strategies for placing television programmes - analysis of the television target audience - brand identity and analysis of the television channel

Convenzionale

The educational objectives of the course will be achieved through lectures (for a total of 52 hours of lessons). The following teaching methods will be used during the lessons: - presentation of the content by the teacher - analysis of audiovisual texts by the teacher or the class, individually or in groups - creative simulation of forms of storytelling The course may include guest speakers to explore particular aspects and content, and educational visits to television production facilities (Sky).
