Contents of courses attended during the previous years should be learnt. There are no constraining prerequisites for this integrated course.
The learning verification consists of a multiple choice test regarding the topics covered in the modules of the integrated course, completed with an oral exam.
The aim of the course is to provide knowledge relating to the prevention, diagnosis and therapy of the main pathologies and to make the student able to carry out the healthcare activity according to the principle of evidence-based practice. The teachers will aim to provide the student with: (i) the main knowledge regarding the epidemiology and prevention of communicable and non-communicable diseases, clinical presentations and diagnostic-decision-making and therapeutic pathways of the main pathological frameworks of Internal Medicine, the main pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic characteristics and the toxicity mechanisms of specific drug classes for the purpose of their correct management in the intra- and extra-hospital setting; (ii) the skills to develop a scientific methodological approach and apply it, to participate in the planning and implementation of prevention, diagnosis and therapy.
