Assessment of the learning process: Informal discussions are used to verify the student's understanding. The questions encourage the student to formulate hypotheses, make connections between concepts, question viewpoints.
Assessment of learning outcome: written assessment test. The test consists of a series of open-ended questions. The questions concern all the topics that are part of the program, both those tackled during the frontal lessons and those left to the student's study and personal reflection.
This course intends to develop and/or deepen the knowledge about
second/foreign language teaching and acquisition. After passing the exam the student should
demonstrate their knowledge of processes related to the aspects of foreign language
learning and teaching and be able to
design teaching units tailored to the student.
Topics covered include: language teaching approaches and methods, second language acquisition theories (SLA), interlinguistic development, input and interaction, communicative competence, instructional design.
