The course aims to explain how to recognize, characterize and map rocks and geological structures that characterize the environments with a critical and scientific view. The student will get: Knowledge about the main mineralogical phases and rocks of the Earth, as well as environments and mechanisms controlling their formation and diagenesis; Capacity to combine field-based experiences and theoretical knowledge; Capacity to communicate results obtained during field activity on the base of what has been learnt during theoretical lessons.
