In order to periodically test the acquired knowledge, students will be asked to participate in debates and class discussions. The final exam, lasting two hours, will be written and will consist of three open questions.
Acquisition of basic elements of geopolitics with particular reference to the situation in the Middle East and Central Asia.
Analysis of a number of states through the data offered by the Index of Economic Freedom 2021. Experts will be invited. In particular, the countries of the Middle East and Central Asia will be analyzed.
The detailed programme of the course will be discussed with students on the first day, Wednesday 23 February at 2.30 pm.
Index of Economic Freedom, Heritage Foundation, online, free. Introductory parts, all of them, in addition to the States which will be discussed in the course. The notes of the lessons will be fundamental. https://www.heritage.org/index/
There will be six lessons, all on Wednesday afternoons, between 23 February and 30 March. The first lesson will lay the foundations of the course through the use of maps and PowerPoint in which we will examine the historical, theological and legal foundations of Islam. The following lessons will be aimed at analyzing the following countries and geographical areas: Iran, Yemen, Israel-Palestine, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan-Central Asia.
Experts of the different areas will intervene.
