The final examination is written : reading and comprehension of a scientific text related to dentistry with exercises consisting in gap-filling (12 words), finding synonyms in the text of 12 words given in a table, answering 10 statements according to the given passage with T/F (true-false), answering 5 open questions and associating 12 dental terms to their right definition.
The student will have to obtain "Pass".

This course has the purpose to provide dental students with the necessary skills to successfully read and translate scientific texts in English. Students attending dental school should refer to original texts as much as possible; this will enable them to improve their syntax and grammar. Besides, reading also introduces students to English writing style in order to better convey ideas and concepts . Vocabulary is an important part of language learning and allows students and future dentists to read professional literature, surf the Internet for information and research update.
The psychology of dental patient care ( motivation, effective communication, compliance) – etiology, and care of the most common oral diseases (gingivitis, periodontitis, pulpitis) – dental emergencies (fractured and avulsed teeth, mandibular dislocation, postextraction problems, toothache and infection, temporomandibular disorders) - maintaining space – introduction to the problem of reduction of residual ridges.
General information on impression materials (elastic, non-elastic materials, waxes).
Impression trays ( prefabricated, custom-fitted trays) – models (dies, master casts and diagnostic casts).
Principles of cosmetic dentistry in orthodontics: soft tissue laser technology (gingival contouring).
Dental care for children with special needs.
Dental care for cancer patients.
The structure of a scientific paper: IMRAD (Introduction, Materials & Methods, Results And Discussion) – verb tenses-
grammar structures.
