SENSORY ORGANS PATHOLOGY
Knowledge of general anatomy, the basics of human physiology and pharmacology.
Oral examination
At the end of the course, the student will be able to orient themselves on the main pathologies of the head and neck district. From the ENT point of view, they will acquire the skills with particular attention to the pathologies of the paranasal sinuses, oral cavity, pharynx, larynx, salivary glands, thyroid, ear and neck. They will know the general principles of Dentistry and the maxillofacial district. They will acquire the basics of the functioning of the visual apparatus and the knowledge of the main ocular pathologies, also of systemic interest.
Otolaryngology Module
Inflammatory diseases: rhinosinusitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, tonsillitis, and oral cavity inflammatory conditions.
Hearing disorders: pathophysiology of hearing, otitis (external, middle, and chronic), and related complications.
Oncology: tumors of the paranasal sinuses, nasopharynx, oropharynx, hypopharynx, oral cavity, larynx, thyroid, and salivary glands.
Emergencies and urgencies: epistaxis, acute respiratory distress, foreign bodies, trauma, and deep neck infections.
Ophthalmology Module
Basic understanding of the visual system and knowledge of major ocular pathologies, including those with systemic relevance.
Anatomy and physiology of the visual system.
Clinical and instrumental semeiotics.
Eyelid diseases.
Inflammatory diseases of the conjunctiva.
Corneal and corneal surface pathologies.
Lens diseases.
Glaucoma.
Inflammatory diseases of the uvea.
Retinal and vitreous body pathologies.
Neuro-ophthalmology.
Strabismus.
Scleral diseases.
Lacrimal apparatus pathologies.
Orbital diseases.
Optics and refractive errors.
Refractive surgery.
Ocular trauma.
Ocular involvement in systemic diseases.
Clinical and research activity in ophthalmology: principles and practice.

Introduction to odontostomatology.
Dental caries.
