The knowledge of the fundamental categories of Constitutional law is a prerequisite for this course.
The final examination will be oral for all students. The final examination for attending students will take into account the presentation of the cases during the lessons, which are an integral part of the program.
The course of Constitutional Justice concerns the competences of the Italian Constitutional Court. In particular, the course will focus on the judgment on laws, with a special emphasis on its procedural aspects and decision types. To this purpose, ample space will be given both to the study of the constitutional case law and to the examination of some pending issues.
Birth of Constitutional justice. Models of Constitutional justice. The Italian Constitutional Court: composition and functions. The legitimacy of the a quo judge. The relevance of the question. The judgment before the Constitutional Court: procedural profiles. The decisions of the Constitutional Court.

The course includes 35 hours of classroom teaching. In order to encourage active participation in the lessons and to strengthen analytical and exhibition skills, students will be directly involved in the discussion of the cases selected by the teacher.
