The test of Workplace and Construction site Safety is a written exam, 10 questions with open answers, available time 1 hour. Assessment system: 3/30 for each correct answer, 1/30 for each correct answer but not complete, 0/30 for wrong answers or question without answer; 18 points (18/30) is the minimum to pass the test. The teacher will value the student’s grade of knowledge and the ability in explaining arguments and presenting outlines, schemes, graphics and figures. All the topics presented during the course will be part of the final exam. Only the students regularly enrolled for the exam will be allowed to face it by exhibiting their own university card. During the test the classroom exit is not allowed as well as the use of mobile phones or other electronic devices. At the end of the exam the students must give back all paper given at the start with ful name. The students caught coping the exam will be cancelled till the following session. If the final mark would be refused, the student must send an e-mail communication (fabio.conti@uninsubria.it) within five days after the result publication on the ESSE3 platform and an oral exam can be arranged to assess, in detail, his/her real skill; the grade could be even lower than the one obtained during the written test.
This course provides an initial introduction to health and safety issues in the workplace and on mobile construction sites. The course aims to provide the basic knowledge and skills necessary for an engineer entering the field of risk management. This course will be followed by specific in-depth studies provided in various courses throughout the degree program. EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES The expected learning outcomes are to provide the trained technician with the basic skills to: - consult industry regulatory and technical sources; - collaborate in identifying and classifying different occupational risks; - collaborate in identifying the risks present in a specific work activity; - collaborate in assessing workplace risks; - understand and collaborate in applying methods to eliminate or reduce risks; - collaborate in identifying and applying good work practices; - know, select, and use collective and personal protective equipment based on the risks involved; - collaborate in the design, implementation, and management of workplace safety systems; - collaborate in organizing, conducting, and evaluating workplace safety training.
The course arguments are in the follow “Lesson extended programme”. The theoretical lessons will last 48 hours.
