Cell membrane: structure, functions, and specializations.
Cytoplasmic organelles: smooth and rough endoplasmic reticulum, ribosomes, Golgi apparatus, lysosomes, phagocytic vesicles, mitochondria, cytoskeleton, and centriole — structure and function.
Nucleus: morphology and composition. DNA, RNA.
Brief notes on protein synthesis.
Mitosis and meiosis.
Epithelial tissue: covering epithelial tissue, classification, membrane specializations; glandular epithelial tissue, exocrine and endocrine glandular epithelia, cytology of secretion.
Connective tissues: connective tissue proper, ground substance; cartilaginous tissue; bone tissue.
Blood: plasma and blood cells.
Muscle tissue: skeletal striated muscle, smooth muscle, cardiac muscle.
Nervous tissue: neuron, extensions, nerve fibers, synapses, neuromuscular junction. Glial cells.

The course will be structured with in-person classes (number of hours 12), with a mandatory attendance requirement of 75%.
The materials are made available to students for their personal consultation only, and any dissemination to unauthorized third parties or downloading onto personal devices is strictly prohibited.
The classes are supported by optional meetings with tutors, who are made available each year to assist students who need help with their studies.
