CORPORATE FINANCE
There are no explicit prerequisites. However, a good understanding of basic principles of Corporate Finance, Accounting and Financial Statements is recommended.
For both courses, the exam consists solely of a final written test held in person, lasting approximately 60 minutes. The exam is structured as follows: open-ended theoretical questions to assess students' knowledge and understanding of the fundamental principles of Corporate Finance; a few multiple-choice questions; and one practical exercise or case study. The final grade will be expressed on a 30-point scale. A minimum score of 18/30 is required to pass the exam. Honors ("cum laude") may be awarded to students who achieve a score of 30/30 and demonstrate exceptional performance in the written test. No oral exam is scheduled or permitted. There will be no midterm exams.
The course provides an integrated overview of the key topics in business valuation and corporate finance aimed at value creation. Its goal is to develop both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to analyze the economic and financial drivers of firm value and to understand and apply the main valuation methods. Special focus is given to financial strategies across the different stages of a company’s life cycle, access to capital (both traditional and innovative), and Private Capital instruments, including exit processes such as IPOs, mergers, and acquisitions. By the end of the course, students will be able to evaluate assets and companies from a strategic perspective and support investment and financing decisions that enhance sustainable value creation for stakeholders.
