The course is divided into different sections: it will start from the framing of psycholinguistics as a functional discipline for the application of linguistic theories in the contexts of learning and public communication, deepening some issues of language education. In particular, the course will deal with the issues of written communication, the relationship between orality and writing, the sexist uses of the language, insults and communicative competence, also in relation to non-European and Asian languages. In particular, with reference to the Dublin Descriptors, the objectives are specified as follows: Knowledge and understanding (acquisition and mastery of general and specific knowledge in the field of language sciences); Applying knowledge and understanding (ability to use knowledge and skills to analyze linguistic data and solve problems of a professional nature); Making judgments (ability to gather and interpret data relevant to formulating independent critical judgments, including broader reflections on social, scientific or ethical issues); Communication skills (ability to use the specialized language of language sciences to communicate information, ideas, problems and solutions to both specialist and non-specialist audiences); Learning skills (development of the abilities necessary to continue learning independently or in a structured manner, through familiarity with a core body of authoritative sources).
