Learning will be verified through a final exam aimed at evaluating knowledge of the course contents.

The course aims to provide students who have no knowledge of Russian history and culture with an overview of the main issues of historical and cultural identity of modern Russia.

The course will present the main moments of Russian history and culture, with particular reference to the modern and contemporary era. The socio-institutional framework of the Russian Federation will be highlighted.

Russian Federation: geography, borders, population

The Russian-speaking linguistic landscape in the post-Soviet space.
The Slavic world and the history of Slavic languages
Outline of the history of Russia
Development of Russian-language culture in the 19th-20th centuries
Authors and fundamental works of Russian-language literature
Right to education and school system in the Russian Federation and in countries of the post-Soviet space
Contemporary culture in Russian: Runet, youth, slang, alternative culture
Cinema in Russian
Human rights in the post-Soviet space
Italian Russia

Convenzionale

The course takes place in the first and second semester through 60 hours of lessons.

The lessons will be supported by Power Point presentations which will then be uploaded to the course page on the E-Learning platform.

The teacher will stimulate the participation and discussion of the students on the topics introduced, also with the aim of identifying topics to be explored individually or in groups. The different themes will also be presented through the viewing of excerpts from documentaries, films, photos and other audio-visual sources, followed by discussion with the group.

The curse is divided into two modules.
Frequency mode
Continuous attendance is strongly recommended. Any not attending students are requested to contact the course tutors at the beginning of the academic year for an integrative programme.
The course tutors receive in the studio 2.2. of Via Bossi 5, 22100 Como or, if is not possible due to force majeure, online via Teams. Students are invited to email the course tutors to
make an appointment.
