MEDICAL PHYSICS (DETECTORS AND DOSIMETRY)
Basic Physics, Good knowledge of Interaction of ionizing radiation with matter.
The student will have to take an oral test.
Will be aevaluated the ability to discursively organize knowledge will be evaluated; critical reasoning skills; synthetic analysis ability.
To provide students basic information about main types of radiation detectors used for both radiometric measurements in clinical environments and for radiation protection purposes.
Gas Detectors:
Response curve: category of detectors: Ionizing Chambers, Proportional Counters, Geiger Muller counters.
Sensitivity, Saturation, applications.
Film dosimetry:
Principles of radiological image formation, H-D Curves, Sensitivity, Latitude, Saturation, Solarization.

Lessons.
The course is structured in lectures with slide projection. Given the topic of the teaching, the active participation of students is very important, as they are encouraged to ask scientific questions.
