The topics covered are:
• Reference legislation, waste classification (3h)
• Waste selective collection (2 h)
• The authorization procedures for the construction of the plants (3 h)
• Pre-treatments (2 h)
• Production of fuel from waste (3h)
• Composting (2 h)
• Anaerobic Digestion Food Waste and other materials (3h)
• Incineration (3 h)
• Sanitary landfill (3h).
Technical visits will be organized with reference to the topics covered.
The theoretical lessons part of the module will last 24 hours, while the practical part, based on calculations and technical visits, will last 36 hours.

The course is based on frontal theoretical lessons occasionally in cooperation with technical experts coming from public administrations and companies that operate in the waste management sector. The participants to the Module have to organise working groups and, at the end of the course, they have to present the results of a bibliographic research on one of the topics connected to the assigned didactic program.
Example calculation and technical visits, for a total of 36 h, will integrate the topics presented during front lessons in the classroom.
