The teaching aim is to help students to establish a genuine meeting and dialogue with patients. In fact, we have to remember that medicine is an integrated system of care and culture and that it is necessary to return to include, in the treatment process, also ethical and symbolic meanings that model the disease experience and narration.
The following themes will be debated: identity and narrative medicine, the difference between ethics and morals, the power concept, symbols and languages, the body and the end of life, organ transplantation and the gift idea, the listening ability and the possible worlds that derive from it.
The course provides 12 teaching hours. The teacher provides frontal teaching with discussion of cases and experiments.
