The students’ knowledge will be assessed through a final oral talk
The oral exam students are required to orally analyse and describe the arguments of the course and to have a critic approach.
The following will be evaluated:
1) The lexical correctness of the exposition (5 pts);
2) The correctness of the conceptual analyses (10 pts);
3) The management of an effective methodology of learning (5 pts);
4) The students’ critical thinking skills and capacity of autonomy (10 pts).
The course aims to develop some specific skills related to:
1) Analysis of political theories
2) Understanding and interpretation of media system and political phenomena in the modern and post-modern society.
The course will thus focus on reading and interpreting a classical political essay, in order to improve the understanding of globalization process and its effects in the media and political field. The course will also focus on the interpretation of the legitimation of power forms and on the analysis of the main political and governance systems of occidental culture.
In particular, students will be required to analyze and interpret political phenomena, languages and symbolism of power legitimation. Students will be also required to know the interaction between media, collective imaginary and individual forma mentis.
The course is divided into three modules:
• Analysis of power and authority concepts
• Analysis of mass media and their interaction between collective imaginary and prevalent brainframe.
• Analysis of social consensus in the technological civilization and in the main political systems of occidental culture.

Frontal lessons: the lecturer explains the contents of the course, interacting with the students through their questions and observations.
