PHARMACOLOGY
The PHARMACOLOGY course is structured in 12 lessons for a total of 24 hours concerning the following topics:
-Main drug delivery routes;
-Elements of pharmacokinetics (absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion of drugs in healthy subjects and patients);
- Pharmacodynamic elements (mechanism of action and variability of response to drugs);
-Pharmacology-toxicology topics (drug interaction, abuse, tolerance, addiction);
- Clinical pharmacology topics concerning the mechanism of action, pharmacokinetics, therapeutic indications, adverse effects and interactions of local anesthetic drugs, general anesthetics, opioid analgesics, sedative-hypnotics, drugs that act on the blood, chemotherapy, antibiotics.
Frontal lessons.
Classroom activities include the projection of ppt files set with images and diagrams. During the lesson, examples of drug use and current events regarding the various topics covered will be presented and students will be invited to interact with questions and curiosities
