Preparatory constraints for passing the exam in obstetrics and gynecology are not expected.
Oral examination
At the end of the course the student should know:
• Objectives and methods of obstetric assistance in the various phases of the birth process.
• Phases and methods of execution of the obstetric objective examination
• Criteria for defining obstetric risk
• Signs of presumption, probability and certainty of pregnancy
• How to fill out the partogram
• How to perform the pap test
At the end of the course the student should be able to:
• Perform obstetric physical examination
• Fill in the partogram correctly
• Perform the pap-test and vaginal swabs
Pregnancy diagnosis and signs of presumption, probability and certainty of pregnancy.
Classification of risk in pregnancy
Obstetric semeiotics: stages of the physical examination in pregnant woman and in gynecological patient, instrumental exams, methods for assessing fetal well-being and application of scores.

The learning objectives will be achieved through theoretical lessons in the classroom, trying to stimulate students’s interactivity through active teaching methodologies. There will be practical exercises and simulations in the clinical setting at the partner hospital in order to apply the theoretical notions acquired in the field.
The material will be partly provided by the teacher (slides and documents) and partly present in the textbooks recommended by the teacher herself
