SPORTS TRAUMATOLOGY
Traumatic pathologies are described. Also, physical and instrumental assessments are proposed to diagnose them as well as relative principles of treatment and prognosis.
- General information on fractures: classification aspects and general notes on complications and treatment
- Sprains and dislocations: definitions and outline of anatomy of the most affected joints
- Anatomy of the knee. Meniscal and ligament injuries. Cartilaginous lesions. Treatment principles
- Muscle injuries: diagnosis and treatment
- Overload pathologies: classification, risk factors and treatment.
-Shoulder pathology: rotator cuff injuries and shoulder instability
Frontal lessons with the use of slides. Classroom activities include the illustration of radiographic and instrumental images useful for the final diagnosis. Extreme importance will be given to the post-surgical rehabilitation process in order to obtain a complete recovery of the sporting activity and the prevention of risk factors, especially in overload diseases.
