Knowing basic principles of physics and mathematics
At the end of the course, oral questions for each student in which knowledge related to the objectives and contents of the module program will be assessed. Factors such as exposure and language appropriateness will also be considered. The vote will be expressed out of thirty.
Objective of the teaching: the student acquires advanced content and knowledge on the techniques of performing CT and MRI exams.
EXPECTED LEARNING RESULTS
At the end of the course, the student must be able to have an in-depth knowledge of the techniques and protocols for performing CT and MRI exams, knowing the correctness criteria of the images produced. All this having also acquired theoretical notions regarding both the optimization of the radiation dose in CT and safety in the reception and management of the patient in MRI.

MRI musculoskeletal techniques, MRI techniques and protocols upper abdomen, MRI cholangio, lower abdomen (pelvis, endometrium, rectum) and Enterus MRI. Fat saturation techniques (Chess, Stir, Spir, Spair, Dixon).
MRI and MRI breast techniques and protocols.
Particular reference to patient positioning, to the choice of dedicated coils, to the main scan planes, to the main acquisition pulse sequences, in the various clinical questions.
Operating principles of a CT tomograph with particular reference to the technical parameters that affect spatial resolution, contrast, and the quality of the final image.
Scan parameters and reconstruction parameters. Choice of the reconstruction algorithm. Radiant dose optimization strategies and use of dose modulation systems. Reception and management of the patient in CT.
Techniques and protocols CT chest, abdomen, brain, facial mass, neck, joint CT, Uro-CT, Colon CT, Enterus CT, Angio CT and Cardio CT. Acquisition techniques and image reconstruction techniques for the main clinical questions in the different districts under study.
Main artifacts in TC and possible strategies to eliminate or reduce them.
Program of the CT and MRI techniques module
Principles of operation of an MR tomograph with particular reference to
technical parameters affecting contrast, spatial resolution, time of
acquisition and the quality of the final image.

Musculoskeletal MRI techniques and protocols.
MRI techniques and protocol of the upper abdomen, of the MRI cholangium, of the abdomen
inferior (pelvis, endometrium, rectum) and Enterus MRI.
Fat saturation techniques (Chess, Stir, Spir, Spair, Dixon).
MRA techniques and protocols (CE-MRA; TOF; Phase Contrast)
Breast MRI techniques and protocols (and post-processing)
All with particular reference to the positioning of the patient, to the choice of
dedicated coils, to the main scanning planes, main pulse sequences of
acquisition in the various clinical questions.

The 24-hour module is divided into a series of lessons with PowerPoint slides. The slide files will also be simultaneously uploaded to the e-learning platform, in pdf or xps format. Moments will be provided from time to time in which doubts can be discussed together or for requests for any further clarifications.
