Introduction about economic sociology. Capitalism and Technique. Society or community. The modern capitalistic economy. Adam Smith and Karl Marx: from use value to exchange value. Hobbes, Marx, Comte, Weber, Galbraith, Luhmann.
M. Foucault: biopolitics, capitalism and the homo oeconomicus. Economy, religion and capitalism (M. Weber). Capitalism as a religion (Benjamin). Technique as a religion (Tilgher, Demichelis). From fordism to network. The heavy modernity and the liquid modernity (Z. Bauman). The Great Transformation (Polanyi). New Deal, Beveridge. The welfare state. Ordoliberalism and neoliberism. Globalization and the crisis of 2008. Globalization and the new work organization. The consumption society. The mass society. Network economy and society. Time and economy.
