PROFESSIONAL TRAINEESHIP 3
To access the internship, the student must have successfully passed the professionalizing internship 2; have the suitability for professionalizing and in-depth activities 2 (APA2).
The evaluation of the internship is summative and certifying and different elements contribute to it.
The student is admitted to the internship exam if he is in possession of the credits required for the year of the course, by calculating the weighted average of the following elements:
- Three written tests aimed at assessing the acquisition of disciplinary skills and professional judgment skills acquired
- A written paper
- At least one clinical internship evaluation form for each internship experience signed by a pedagogical tutor and / or an ATUO.
- Two scheduled internship exam sessions: the first by October 15th and the second by January 31st.
Therefore, the final traineeship grade results from the weighted average of the elements indicated above and will be expressed out of thirty.
The purpose of the 3rd year internship is to complete the acquisition of the professional skills of the general nursing nurse. Particular attention will be given to the development of the ability to make decisions and to take responsibility for nursing care towards vulnerable and frail people at different stages of life, in different care contexts and in compliance with the ethical values and legal rules that regulate the professional practice.
More precisely, the professionalizing training activity allows the student to:
1. recognize their own professional contribution within the health care team and deal with the different role models;
2. establish the professional relationship, in compliance with the principles and values of the person and the professional in situations of vital criticality and chronic illness, referring in particular to the ethical concepts of accountability, advocacy, caring and cooperation;
3. identify opportunities for promoting people's health and well-being, ensuring safety and promoting the recovery of autonomy in complex care situations;
4. identify, within the areas of practice, possible areas of nursing research;
5. making decisions and solving care problems through clinical reasoning in medium / high complexity situations
EXPECTED LEARNING RESULTS
At the end of the professional internship of the third year of the course, the student will be able to:
1. Implement the nursing care process by carrying out the initial assessment of the assisted person, identifying the nursing problems / diagnoses / nursing care needs and the most frequent objectives / outcomes in vital critical situations, in the different stages of life and in chronic conditions of illness;
2. perform nursing interventions in compliance with guidelines and protocols and reflect on any need for updating by consulting the most authoritative sources;
3. identify the care situations that require the initiation of a path to take care of people suffering from chronic diseases;
4. transmit information within the health team using the health and nursing documentation in use;
5. apply clinical risk management procedures to create and maintain a safe environment;
6. respect the different levels of responsibility and competence of health and technical personnel.
7. apply the main procedures to ensure the right to privacy and confidentiality of health and assistance information.
The internship contents of the third year are represented by experiences aimed at learning the skills necessary for highly complex assistance. They are represented by:
• care planning aimed at people hospitalized in different specialist care settings: maternal and child area, mental health, palliative care and critical area;
• care planning aimed at people suffering from chronic degenerative diseases with particular attention to protected discharges and continuity of care in the hospital and on the territory;
• execution of exercises for the identification of care priorities in the management of the highly complex patient;
• execution of exercises for the development of relational skills functional to team work.
Exercises with low and medium fidelity simulators.
Attendance of medium-high complexity assistance units with support to Internship Assistants of the Operational Unit (ATUO) and / or pedagogical tutor.
