In order to better understand the topics of this course it is however suggested that the student possesses the knowledge offered by the course of General Psychology (C.I. Human Sciences 1, I year).
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY
The final evaluation consists of a written test consisting of 30 closed questions with multiple choice answers (only 1 correct answer among 5 choices) about the topics treated during the lessons and contained in the integrated course program, including Clinical Psychology 1 (15 questions) and Clinical Psychology 2 (15 questions). The result obtained at the written examination can be supplemented, at the discretion of the committee, by some oral questions in order to deepen the verification of acquisition of knowledge, as well as the learning and reasoning skills on the topics discussed.
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY
The aims of the course is to provide students with theoretical notions necessary to apply the basic concepts of clinical, social and health psychology to nursing practice and to manage relationship with patients and their families also in specific situations and contexts of nursing practice (children, old people, death, grief, stress and trauma). Another target is to provide students theoretical foundations to understand stressful situations, to cope with professional stress and to prevent burnout.

General Concepts:
- clinical psychology and nursing;
psychological aspects of the nurse-patient relationship; the sick person and the disease:
health, illness and quality of life; factors influencing adjustment to illness; psychological reactions to illness; patient needs;
death, dying and grief; illness and family: the impact of illness and death on the family.
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY 1

- the role of family in adjustment to illness.
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY 1
Frontal and interactive lessons.
Frontal lessons are supported by slides to facilitate synthesis and attention. During classroom discussions, students are encouraged to interact with teacher with questions and curiosities.
There are also presented,as examples, cases from the clinical practice.
