SURGICAL PATHOLOGY 2
Having successfully completed the complementary and integrated course in Surgical Pathology 1
The exam is carried out at the end of both the Surgical Pathology 1 and Surgical Pathology 2 courses.
The learning assessment method involves an ORAL interview. The candidate must be examined by 2 commissioners relating to two different modules present within both courses.
Two or 3 questions will be asked by each commissioner on the relevant matter.
The ability to discursively organize knowledge, argumentative rigor and originality, the ability to critically reason on the study carried out, the depth of the analysis, the quality of the exposition, the competence in the use of specialized vocabulary and the linearity of exposure.
The final mark is the result of the average of the single mark of each integrated course.
To provide basic knowledge in the field of pathophysiology, clinical and diagnostic aspects of the main diseases of the vascular, cardiac and thoracic system of surgical interest.
The teaching is organized into the following modules:
1. Cardiac surgery
2. Vascular Surgery
3. Thoracic Surgery
The learning is also an integral part of the previous teaching of Surgical Pathology 1.
EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES:
At the end of the course the student must be able to:
1) define the main pathologies:
- of the vascular system (arterial and venous system)
- cardiac of surgical interest
- of the respiratory system and rib cage
2) classify the clinical signs and symptoms of the pathologies previously described
3) Know the definition, epidemiology, etiology, symptoms, signs, prognosis and diagnostic methodology of the main neoplasms and the main chronic and acute diseases.
