For a better understanding of some topics covered, knowledge of MR techniques is required (diagnostic imaging course 2), without prerequisite constraints.
Oral form exam.
At the end of the course the student will be able to know breast diagnostic techniques, their indications and their semeiotics, and breast imaging-guided interventional techniques.
Main topics of the course are:
• Breast anatomy and breast radiological anatomy
• Breast pathology: etiopathogenesis of breast cancer
• Diagnostic imaging techniques: mammography, breast magnetic resonance, galactoduttography, breast tomosynthesis, contrast-enhanced mammography, automatic breast ultrasound
• Breast radiological semeiotics of the main investigation techniques
• Imaging-guided interventional techniques: cytological and histological sampling, with ultrasound, stereotaxic and MRI guidance.
