Learning of the mechanisms and interpretation of coagulation tests
The course is divided into the following areas:
1. Physiology of hemostasis
2. Platelet disorders
3. Bleeding disorders
4. Hereditary and acquired thrombophilias
In this course, the theoretical basis of the physiological processes of primary and secondary hemostasis will be provided to the trainees. Moreover, they will be educated on how to interpret the results of the main laboratory tests related to hemostasis. The main pathologies conditioning haemorrhagic diathesis (platelet disorders, vasculopathies, haemophilias, von Willebrand disease) and thrombophilia (congenital and acquired) will be discussed.
