The prerequisites for attending the course derive from the educational obligations of the previous year (I year). Adequate basic knowledge of chemistry, physics, biology, biochemistry, anatomy and physiology and immunology is required. Knowledge of laboratory techniques is required as per the first year's curriculum.
Oral exams, the minimum to pass the exam is 18/30. During the exam the student will be evaluated considering his knowledge and understanding ( 25 % ), the ability to apply knowledge and understanding ( 25 % ) , his independent judgment ( 15 % ), the communication skills ( 15 % ) and the ability to learn ( 20 % ) in relation to training program.
The course addresses the correct execution and evaluation of the information provided by the specific clinical and hematological pathology techniques.
The course plans to develop the student's ability to direct the interpretation of technical problems. During the course, topics related to scientific bases and the principles of basic techniques will be discussed, such as spectrophotometry, spectrofluorimetry, centrifugation, enzymatic kinetics applied to diagnostics, immunochemical techniques.
At the end of the course the student will know:
1-describe the techniques treated and the tools suitable for their execution;
2-identify the analytical problems related to them;
3-analyze the data produced by the techniques by framing them in a diagnostic path.
Spectrophotometry techniques and related instruments; spectrofluorimetry and relative instrumentation techniques, centrifugation techniques and relative instrumentation, enzymatic assay techniques and their diagnostic significance; immunochemistry techniques and related applications.

The course is organized with lectures that provide for slide projections (usually in English). During the explanation in the classroom the students are invited to interact with the teachers with questions and curiosity. During the lectures the teachers will also present cases and daily facts that can make the application / importance of the subjects of the teachings understand. Students have the obligation to attend classes as established in the educational regulations of the study course and to sign the time sheet for taking the exam. Teachers undertake to make projected presentations available to lectures and other material of interest (articles) through the University computer platforms (e-learning) to which students have access.
In the teacher's presentations there will be links to web pages for further information. For reception students make an appointment by email with the teachers.
