Written examination: reading comprehension of a short text with exercises : to fill 12 gaps with words from a table, to find 10 synonyms, to answer 8 questions with True/False.
The student will have to obtain "Pass".
Because of the current health emergency the method of examination might be changed
The course is designed to:
* help students read medical journals and textbooks more fluently and improve their knowledge of scientific English regarding themes and topics specific to the field of biomedical laboratory techniques.
* reinforce students’ oral and written communication skills as part of their ongoing path of education.
* analyze the structure of a scientific paper
The biomedical laboratory technician’s job – instruments, hygiene and laboratory equipment- safety at work for health-related workers – infection control in health-care settings – prevention – laboratory tests ( collecting samples for testing and procedures – terms used to describe lab results)- lab tests and diagnosis.
Research articles: main sections (Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion)

Review of the basic grammar structures when necessary.
