Surgical anatomy, pathophysiology, natural history and diagnostic methods of the main surgical diseases of the chest.
Chest wall: malformations; tumors; surgical anatomy;diagnostic procedures.
Pleura: pleural effusions; empyema; hemothorax; chylothorax; pleural mesothelioma; metastatic pleural tumors; spontaneous and acquired pneumothorax.
Mediastinum: surgical anatomy; pathophysiology; diagnostic methods; mediastinal syndromes; inflammatory and neoplastic diseases; tumors of the anterior, middle and posterior mediastinum; thymic tumors.
Trachea: surgical anatomy; pathophysiology; diagnostic methods;malformations;inflammatory and neoplastic diseases; trauma.
Lung: anatomy; pathophysiology; malformations; inflammatory, infectious and degenerative diseases; primary and metastatic neoplasm: natural history and diagnosis.
Diaphragm: diaphragmatic hernias: surgical anatomy, pathophysiology, diagnostic methods.
Chest trauma: rib fractures, penetreting and blunt trauma, injuries of the thoracic organs; mediastinal emphysema.
Tracheobronchial endoscopy and thoracoscopy.
