The courses of the three-year undergraduate curriculum constitute the essential conceptual heritage to tackle the issues proposed in the course.
The students’ knowledge will be assessed through an oral test.
The final mark is calculated out of 30ies. It will take into account the accuracy and quality of the responses (50%), as well as communication skill and the ability to adequately justify statements, analyses and opinions shown during the interview and in class (50%).
The course aims to analyse core elements of the public history discipline and its connection to the various communication possibilities of the plurimedial spectrum.
The course will be organized in three modules: first an introduction to the ethics and practices of public history; then two case studies analyzed in a historiographic perspective as well as by the practical use of the media.
The students are asked to critically search for new type or uses of media to convey the case studies.
The expected learning outcomes are:
• Knowledge and understanding of the historical period;
• Ability of arguing the historical and historiographical themes;
• Ability of interpreting the historical and historiographical themes.
