Basic knowledge of scientific courses in the three-year course.
Written exam at the end of the course.
Three questions.
10 points for each question.
In the present course the different kind of lake ecosystems are presented, highlighting the different interactions between organisms and their habitats. The aspect of the relationship between quality and quantity of available water for human purpose is also discussed.
The course aims to provide the basic elements to understand the interactions between abiotic and biotic factors that include the structure of the different lake ecosystems. This aspect represents the basis for the correct management of ecosystem values in the light of the European regulations in force.
The student at the end of the lectures will be able to discuss how anthropic activities can be negative on aquatic ecosystems, bringing back different lakes and their enhancement with concrete examples. The student will have to know the methodologies of study of the biotic and abiotic components of the lakes, the prevention criteria and the regulatory tools for a better management and protection of freshwater ecosystems
