Physics: Basic maths (no calculus required)
In-class written test for statistics and for physics; in-class computer test for informatics.
Physics:
Knowledge in outline of phenomena and physical principles underlying medical applications of physics of reevance for the students.Resolution of problems requiring easy calculations and use of units.
Statistics:
The main aim of the course is to illustrate the basic elements needed to critically read and correctly interpret the results of quantitative medical research. Descriptive and inferential statistics are framed into the scientific knowledge process. We read the “results” section of a scientific article on a study topic of relevance for the students.
Informatics:
The aim of the course is to learn the main functionalities of software for personal productivity. In particular of text editor and spreadsheet. Applications of interest to be used for study activities. The lectures take place in the computer lab showing the use of product features.
