Final written test. 40-item test (different task types and formats) to assess acquisition of grammar structures and linguistic functions as well as understanding and knowledge of vocabulary specific to the career of dental hygienist.

Provide future dental hygienists with the linguistic competence
- toidentify, analyse and use the main structures of English at an intermediate level;
- to read, understand and translate into Italian medical scientific texts related to their future profession;
- to communicate with foreign patients and colleagues in an international working environment.
At the end of the course, students willhave acquired knowledge ofthe vocabulary related to the healthcare field as well as adequate command of the subject-specific terminology of Dental Hygiene.

Grammar of the English language, recurringstructures of medical scientific English; main linguistic functions and linguistic functions of health, oral and dentalcare communication; subject-specificvocabulary: health care, anatomy, physiology and pathology of the oral cavity and teeth, dental hygiene, instruments and protective equipment, communicating with patients.
