Oral examination at the end of the course. The student's preparation will be evaluated by means of three or four questions, requesting an extensive response, on topics covered during the course. The examination will last approx. 50 minutes.
TEACHING OBJECTIVES
This course aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the basic concepts and main technology regarding waste management, including recovery and disposal, site remediation and wastewater treatment.
EXPECTEFD LEARNING OUTCOMES
Students will develop basic skills for waste management, recovery or final disposal, for site remediation and will develop basic skills for wastewater treatment and water purification
The course is an integrated course composed by two separate modules concerning, waste management and site remediation and wastewater treatment technology. Basic information concerning the principles of the regulatory framework for waste management, soil remediation and water quality are presented. Main technologies for waste management and disposal, including atmospheric emission control, for soil remediation and for water and wastewater treatment are presented together with approaches for the design of facilities.
