Requirements: 

Basic knowledge of the pelvis anatomy and of the reproductive organs physiology

The final test involves the administration of a WRITTEN questionnaire consisting of a total of 3 OPEN questions (1 question for each integrated course). The student has a total of 1 HOUR of time to answer all the questions.
The ability to discursively organize knowledge, rigor and argumentative originality, the capacity for critical reasoning on the study carried out, the depth of the analysis, the quality of the exposure, the competence in the use of specialized vocabulary and the linearity of the exposure.
The final mark is the result of the average of the single mark of each integrated course.

To provide basic knowledge of the pathophysiology, and the clinical treatment of of the female genital diseases.

The teaching is organized in the following modules:
1. Senology 1 credit
2. Reconstructive Surgery 1 credit
3. Gynecology and Obstetrics 1 credit

EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES:
At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
1) Define the main pathologies of the female genital system and reproductive function
2) Classify clinical signs and symptoms
3) Knowing definition, epidemiology, etiology, symptoms and signs, diagnosis, prognosis and basics of therapy of the main neoplasms.

Principles of anatomy, physiology, etiology, diagnosis, of the most common breast disease, inflammatory breast disease, benign and malignant breast disease, surgical treatment of breast cancer (lumpectomy vs mastectomy), breast reconstruction after surgery, anathomy and treatment of the axilla, sentinel lymmph node biopsy, lymphadenectomy of the axilla, breast cancer management (radiotherapy, chemotherapy, ormonal therapy)

1. Normal breast anatomy and physiologic changes
2. Inflammatory, infectious and other non-neoplastic breast lesions
3. Fibroadenomas, adenomas, papillomatosis
4. Breast cancer: epidemiology, clinical aspects, diagnosis
5. Breast surgery: a. Conservative surgical treatments; b. Mastectomy
6. Reconstruction after mastectomy
7. Axillary anatomy
8. Sentinel lymphnode biopsy
9. Axillary dissection
10. Non surgical treatments of breast cancer (radiotherapy; chemotherapy, Hormonal therapy)
11. Breast cancer during pregnancy and breast feeding

The course will be structured in lectures with slides (including different illustrations) followed by a moment of discussion about the topic of the day with the possibility of questions and direct interaction with the students.
