The examination involves the assessment of expected knowledge through the integration of two tests:
the realization of a research project presented through a report to be realized also in subgroups (maximum 5 people)
a multiple-choice test.
The final evaluation combines the results of the two tests through an arithmetic mean that will become the final grade of the course, which will mediate with the other teachings of the integrated course.
In the course of the lessons the online space will be available on the platform as a support environment, exchange of materials and space for discussion to resolve doubts. In this space, it is foreseen the possibility to carry out a monitoring of the learning through short general questions.
At the end of the course participants will be able to:
Know the guiding principles of the research methodology
Understand the relationship between theory and practice and between naive theories and scientific theories
To know and experiment with the procedure for the formulation of a research plan for the understanding of the educational action
Set up data collection tools, apply them and define a database
Know the basics of data processing and the production of a research report
The formulation of the research problem
The theoretical framework for investigating the research topic
The choice of the research strategy: from the hypothesis to the procedures
Aspects of qualitative and quantitative research, confirmatory research and exploratory research
The paradigm of Lasarsfeld: size categories, indicators and items
Sampling procedures
Method of processing quantitative data (frequency, averages, medians, fashion, standard diviation) and qualitative data (categories, codes and correlations).

The learning process includes a first phase in which the fundamental aspects of the methodology of educational research and experimental pedagogy are presented. In the light of the emerging indications, the focus is on specific research projects developed in small working groups. In this, there will be an alternation between group work and theoretical in-depth study depending on the operational/thematic focus of the work phase. At the end of the course, a short presentation of a research report on the course developed in the small group will be formulated.
