Knowledge of mathematical and physical analysis
The exam consists of a written test and an oral exam.
The written test includes:
1 exercise concerning isostatic structures;
1 or 2 exercises concerning the mechanics of the continuum and the problem of Saint venant.
The theoretical test, which is accessed if at least 16/30 is obtained in the written test, includes questions on all the topics covered in the course.
Knowledge of the fundamental notions of three-dimensional solid mechanics: static, kinematics, constitutive behaviour
Knowledge of the principles and theorems of continuum mechanics.
Application to beam systems (isostatic and hyperstatic) and flat (two-dimensional) systems.
The main topics are:
1.-Kinematics and statics of isostatic beam systems (16 hours).
2.-Analysis of deformable beam systems (isostatic and hyperstatic): the elastic line and the principle of virtual works (14 hours).
3.-Stability of the balance of compressed beams (8 hours).
4.-analysis of stress and strain in a continuous body (8 hours).
5.-Constitutive equations of continuous body (4 hours).
6.-The elastic-linear behaviour (4 hours).
7.-The resistance criteria (4 hours).
8.-The Saint Venant problem (14 hours)
