At the end of the course the student must be familiar with the most frequent infectious diseases requiring admission to the hospital and on the epidemiology and prevention of health care associated infections
Infectious diseases transmission. Viral hepatitis: HAV, HBV, HCV, HDV, HEV. HIV infection: epidemiology, clinical manifestations, diagnosis and prevention. Vertically transmitted diseases: CMV, Toxoplasmosis, HSV-1, HSV-2, Rubella. Candidiasis. Travel diseases: malaria. Scabies and pediculosis. Tuberculosis. Central nervous system infections: meningitis, encephalitis. Health care associated infections. Occupational exposure risk, prevention rules and post-exposure prophylaxis.
