BUSINESS ENGLISH
Students should have a fair knowledge of the grammar, lexis and syntax of the English language.
Written exam, lasting 60 minutes, focusing on the technical and linguistic knowledge acquired.
The course aims to improve students’ abilities to understand and discuss articles dealing with financial, economic and legal English.
Reading, listening, interpretation and discussion of at least 10 texts related to students’ degree course so as acquire the abilities necessary to undertake the written exam. The exam will be based on the linguistic knowledge of the texts mentioned above.
There is no set reference text. The teacher will provide materials in class for the course. However, students can also prepare for the exam by reading financial newspapers, magazines and websites in English.
Using authentic materials (business and financial texts), the course aims to raise students’ levels in the following areas: grammar, lexis, listening, writing and speaking.
