The course aims to rely on the student for:
Diagnose / formulate differential diagnosis, formulate the prognosis and therapeutic orientation of diseases of general surgery.
Provide the necessary knowledge for preoperative assessment and preparation for post-operative treatment in general surgery.
Clinic and principles of surgical therapy of:
- benign and malignant pathology of the esophagus and of the diaphragm;
- benign and malignant pathology of the stomach and duodenum;
- benign and malignant pathology of the pancreas;
- benign and malignant pathology of the liver and biliary tract;
- portal hypertension;
- diseases of the spleen and lymph nodes;
- inflammatory diseases and intestinal tumors;
- short bowel syndrome;
- benign and malignant pathology of the colon and rectum;
- benign and malignant ano-rectal pathology;
- retroperitoneal tumors;
- acute abdomen, peritonitis;
- haemorrhages of the digestive tract;
- acute and chronic intestinal ischemia;
- bowel obstruction;
Principles of treatment of traumas.
Shock: septic, hypovolaemic, traumatic.
Organ transplantation.
