Direct and indirect diagnosis
Differential diagnosis and interpretation of results
Antibiogram
Infectious diseases of respiratory tract: of the central nervous system; intravascular and cardiac infectious diseases
Diagnosis and monitoring of hepatitis viruses infections and HIV

Techniques for research and identification of infectious agents that cause disease in humans (bacteria, viruses, parasites and fungi)
Direct methods:
Microscopy and staining
antigen research
research of microbial nucleic acids
culture test (basic culture media, enriched, selective and differential, incubation times and methods, reading, microbial load) and antibiogram

Indirect methods:
antibody research with agglutination, precipitation, complement fixation, neutralization, ELISA, western blotting methods.

Use of the aforementioned techniques for the diagnostic approach to:
Infections of the circulatory stream
Infections of the central nervous system
Respiratory infection
Urinary tract infections
Sexually transmitted infections
Viral hepatitis
HIV infection
