SURGICAL PATHOPHYSIOLOGY
The course will analyze in detail the pathophysiological aspects of the main surgical pathologies concerning the gastro-enteric tract, liver and biliary tract, pancreas, breast, spleen and lymph nodes, endocrine pathology (thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal glands), the pathophysiology of peritoneum, abdominal trauma , diaphragm pathologies, urinary pathologies, transplants, shock, postoperative infectious complications, intestinal obstruction, and acute abdomen, digestive haemorrhages and intestinal ischemia, inflammatory bowel diseases and syndrome of short bowel, the pathology of the abdominal wall (hernias and laparoceles)
The course will be divided into specific lessons treating the physiopathology of:
- Postoperative complications; surgical wound infections
- Peritoneal disease
- Abdominal trauma
- Shock
- Intestinal obstruction and acute abdomen
- Digestive hemorrhage and intestinal ischemia
- Breast diseases
- Oesophageal pathologies
- Gastric, duodenal, biliary and pancreatic pathologies
- Small intestine and appendix
- Inflammatory intestinal diseases
- Hernias
- Diaphragm
- Spleen surgical diseases and lymphadenopathy
- Endocrinosurgical diseases (thyroid, parathyroid, pancreas and adrenals)
- Transplants
- Urologic diseases
