Knowledge in general chemistry and analytical instrumentation as given during the BSc in Chemistry.
Oral test
The fundamental of electrochemistry will be taught in the first part of the course, whereas the main topic will be the theory, practise and application of electroanalytical techniques.
Electrochemical fundamentals:
•electrochemical potential
•electrochemical equilibria
•electrochemical kinetics
Electrode reactions:
•electrode materials
•reaction mechanisms
•kinetics and thermodynamics
•transport
•adsorption
•software simulation
Potentiometric techniques:
•principles and instrumentation
•ion-selective electrodes
•on-line, on-site and in vivo instrumentation
Voltammetric techniques:
•potential scans
•cyclic voltammetry
•anodic and cathodic stripping
•application and case studies
Electrochemical sensors:
